# Konsola for Chrome and the Mac

Last updated 9 October 2026

Konsola has two companions that keep the timer where you already are: in your browser's toolbar, and in your Mac's menu bar. They are the same timer on the same account as the app, so a timer you start in one shows in the others, and everything else, from reports to invoices, stays in the app.

## Konsola for Chrome

Get Konsola for Chrome from [the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/konsola/bmaockehfdlgdhfjplhpoonddenomkmm).

- **Start and stop** from the toolbar: what you are working on, the project and task, and Start. A running timer shows its time on the toolbar icon.
- **Continue** recent work in one click, and see today's total.
- **Link the page you are on.** The tab's address goes on the entry as a link, and its title becomes the description when you leave it empty. The extension reads the tab's address and title only when you open it, and never the page's content.
- **Shortcuts.** Alt+Shift+K opens it and Alt+Shift+S starts or stops the timer. Change them on your browser's extension shortcuts page.

It works in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and other Chromium browsers. It uses your Konsola session in that browser: sign in on konsola.space once, and the extension is signed in too.

## Konsola for Mac

Download [Konsola for Mac](https://downloads.konsola.space/mac/Konsola.dmg), a signed and notarized `.dmg`.

- **The timer in the menu bar,** with its time beside the icon, one click from any app.
- **Shortcuts that work everywhere,** to open it and to start or stop the timer.
- **Signs in with an e-mail code,** keeps its session in the macOS Keychain, and shows in your devices in Settings → Account, where you can sign it out.
- **Updates itself.** It needs macOS 13.3 or later.

## Your data

Both companions talk only to konsola.space, with the same account and the same rules as the app. Neither keeps a copy of your entries: they stay in your account. The [Privacy Policy](https://konsola.space/privacy) says what Konsola keeps and where.
